Last week at my school we had a mofel of a UN Conference. I wanted to share this experience with you and maybe even get to lnow your opinion on experiences like this.
I was part of the delegation of Ukraine. As Ukraine had a pretty unimortant role, we didn't have much to say. Obviously America, China, Russia and Germany were the most important countries and most of the debating was between them. This description might give an impression of a boring debate about climate change between the world powers. However, it was the exact opposite. I had so much fun.
I met many new friends in a variety of ways. First, my delegation consisted of people from different classes and I knew none of them before hand. They were awesome people and we got along so well. We laughed at nearly everything together and even made inside jokes. Then in the comittee< I got to know one of my group memebers and a ton of other people. I asked one girl a question and we immediately started talking about topics different from the MUN. During the discussions I met others from other delegations. During that day I could honestly say that I made more than 50 new friends.
During this conferene we discussed topics like climate change, developing countries, technology need and many others. All in all, we only had to prepare one opening speech and the later work was mostly improvisation.
